Laurie Excell - Nature Photographer
Photography
and travel have been a major part of my life for as long as I can remember. My
family always took every opportunity to "get out of town" and wherever
our adventures led us, we carried our cameras. I received my first SLR at the
age of ten when my father handed me one of his Pentax Spotmatic cameras. I was
hooked!
Photography became a means of communicating the beauty I found in nature. My
passion for photography led me to a career selling photographic equipment. Over
a twenty-four year span I worked in and managed several camera stores in Utah
and Oregon helping both amateurs and professionals in the selection and understanding
of which equipment would best fit their needs.
With thirty years of photographic experience under my belt I decided it was
time to pursue my lifelong dream of traveling and photographing the natural
wonders and wildlife of North America. In addition to my own travels, I work
with Moose Peterson and Joe
McNally as an instructor in Digital Landcsape
Workshop Series around the country. For more information on our upcoming
workshops go to: DLWS
